At Acting Up Carolina in Charlotte, NC, our students learn more than just a talent. Whether taking classes to become a professional or just for fun, our students learn many important life skills and become more confident and poised individuals along the way. About Our Instructors

Jennifer Tankersley

Our owner/director Jennifer Tankersley is originally from Music City, Nashville, TN USA.

She has worked in the entertainment industry, performing around the country and abroad for over twenty years and working in a variety of venues such as regional theaters, cruise ships, theme parks, dinner theaters, and summer stock. In the past decade, Jennifer has turned her focus from being on stage to teaching music, drama, and dance.

From preschool age to adult, Jennifer’s goal is to foster confidence in everyone from the shy child who wants to perform, to the woman/man attempting to apply for an important job. Jennifer exudes encouragement which becomes infectious and before long, everyone is giving their best effort.

Jennifer has a genuine passion for the performing arts and believes they are wonderful tools to teach, promote, and encourage creativity, self-confidence, teamwork, problem-solving methods, communication, and many other valuable life skills.

I feel so blessed to have enjoyed the past 30 years working in the 

film and television industry as an actor, casting associate, talent agent and coach. 

After enjoying so many years on the stage and in the studio, I am so excited to be part of Acting Up Studio and can't wait to share my experience with these students. I look forward to meeting everyone as we begin a new season and a new creative adventure together.



Erica Heer

Erica Heer started performing at the age of 9. It all started with a few dance classes and soon evolved into more dance classes, dance team, chorus, community theatre, middle school, and high school musicals, as well as voice lessons. 

Erica graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 with a BFA in Musical Theater and has been performing professionally since 2012.

Her jobs have taken her to many amusement parks, cruise ships, theaters, and events in the past couple of years. Now, she is following her path in hopes of bringing the light of theater and performing to others. She is thrilled to join the Acting Up Carolina LLC team to continue pursuing her passions!

Logan Cosper

Logan Cosper is so excited to be a part of the Acting Up family! She joined the team in June as an instructor and has absolutely fallen in love with the studio and students.

A Winthrop Musical Theatre alum (music minor), she is a local voice teacher and performer. She specializes in theme park performing, from surfing with Snoopy in Carowinds' Beach Blanket Beagle, to head banging in D&G Entertainment Design's Lost Souls Band at Scarowinds, Christmas caroling at Anakeesta in Tennessee, hanging with princesses at Walt Disney World, and everything in between! Her favorite regional theatre credits include Mary Poppins (Showtime Theatre Company), Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls (Belmont Abbey Players), and Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors (CPCC). She can't wait to continue all of the great work at Acting Up!


Lexie Wolfe

Lexie Wolfe is so excited to be joining the Acting up Team! She started performing at the age of 7 when she began her first dance classes. She was in her first musical at the age of 12 and has been in love with theatre ever since. She attended Northwest school of the Arts in highschool and holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from East Carolina University. She has traveled around the country performing at various regional theatres, amusement parks and dinner theatres the past 6 years and is looking forward to sharing her love of performing with all her new friends at the studio!
